The last week i’ve fished here in the smaller rivers that have cooled down faster than the bigger rivers. I’ve gotten a few walleyes not over 16″ in both the wapsi and maquoketa and all were caught in faster water right along with the feeding smallies or very near the faster water holding in 3′ of water or less. I know these young fish feed more than the bigger fish because they are growing. The question is with the water cooling down do you think the bigger walleyes are near by these shallows or still in deeper water but still feeding on bigger prey or both.
Anybody else notice this too?
