Trolled around Lost Island pulling cranks for 3 hours today, my brother got a 10 lb carp to show for it. Stopped at a bait shop and the guy sez to try Elk Lake. So went to Elk, pulled plugs for a couple of hours and only one walleye. A couple of guys in a blue Lund said they had 9 after I told them we only had one. They were pulling blue and chrome #5 shads 15 feet right behind the boat. IN 4 TO 5 FEET OF WATER. We switched and picked up a few then a thunder strom came trough and we got off the lake. So what hppened to the “got to get away from the boat in shollow water theory”? We were running 3 boards with the 4 line flat lined 150 feet behind the boat, these guys are 15 feet and go home with their limit. I heard of trolling muskie in the prop wash but walleyes?
