I guess this dumb weather has everyone just like the fish… Lockjaw!!!!

I guess… but just wait till the first warm spell! We’ll all be zooming… What is your first game plan for open water?

Well Hawger, I’ve always got at least 2 game plans. Number one is to start hittin the rivers around here more this year and especially as soon as the ice goes out. As a matter of fact I had the boat in the river here in town two weeks ago on Saturday and Sunday after work. Then it got cold and the water got hard again and still is hard. Game two will be to head for pool 4 as soon as things start to turn on up that way. Got my mind made up already that work is gonna have to take a back seat to fishin this year. Love trollin, jiggin, 3 wayin, you name it WALLEYE’N.

You had your boat out on the Cedar already? Man, I’m always afraid of going out there during the summer!

I need to get mine out for a shakedown when the weather starts warming up, preferrably before the monsoons start dragging trees into the channel.

yupper im headin either to the cedar or to coralville, just havent decided which for sure yet. My brother-in-law may come down from W’loo with his new boat tomorrow and if so we will put the splash guards that I built for him on. Either way im gonna be fishin tomorrow. I cant take it any longer not going fishin. I may even celebrate tonight and go over to gander and get me a couple new trollin poles and a couple reels for em.

Let me know how you did. I hit Independence early this morning with no luck. One other guy out, and he snagged twice, busted off, and went home. Looks like it’s going to be a great afternoon, though. Too bad I won’t be fishing!
