Well… Ill post a cumulative report on the state of badger creek near Des Moines..
Last (in may) sunday before memorial I fished badger from 3pm-11pm for bass of course. Found 15 or so bass before dark on different things, mainly dropshotting in 16 feet of water in the creek channel. Found a few on my three hook worm. Towards dusk I started tossin a buzzbait.. Had a couple big blow ups, no hooksets.
Fishing the south area by the damm and off to the east shore, near 10:30 I hooked in to this fish.
22 inches 6+ lbs
this fish was caught on my three hook worm as well. been pouring a lot of em lately.
Moments later I had one break me off at the boat that was easily pushing 7-8lbs. Ended the night with a few bass in the 3lb range, and the one over 6.. good night.
Fished a farm pond on tuesday and my friend kim caught this one, just over 3lbs.
Headed back out to badger on saturday for another session..
Found the bite on main lake points, creek channel etc, very tough… Ended up heading to the extreme NW corner in about 10 inches of water, tossin a grass rat. Caught 20-25 fish back there, largest only about 2.5 lb.
Then around dusk, back to main lake shores, weed lines etc. Best fish of the night only 3lbs right as a rubber frog cruised off the weed mat in to open water.
Too weedy to even try my three hook worm.
Bass are out there on these hot days.. so are the bugs too…
Tight lines yall
