If any of you have been wondering where the great pre-spawn bite has gone… i found out yesterday that the fish are grouped up and ultra shallow – finally recovered from it. With the high winds yesterday and today I just fished a local “pond” where the wind was howling in and found some nice fish.

These fish were in ridiculously shallow water so don’t overlook it.

All my fish came on black/white stanley spinnerbaits, believe it or not, but some buddies of mine did well ripping 1/4 oz rattle traps (frenzies). Those walleyes absolutely destroyed the spinnerbait!

Andy, those are some nice looking fish I’ve also had some minor success with shallow eyes but not much size to them. the bigger ones will come
