My brother is living in Des Moines this summer and is a big fisherman. What bodies of water are available to him and what works would be greatly appreciated. He will be fishing from shore.
    Thanks

    Glenn-
Big Creek, Brushy Creek, Saylorville, just to name a few big lakes…Red Rock Biggest crappies ever, bigger than URL, I have seen many photos in the bait shop of true 20 inch slabs..
You can catch a ton of crappies this time of year from shore at red rock.

There is also tons, of small ponds/lakes that are excellent for shore fishing. DMACC (Des moines area community college) has a ten acre public fishing pond, with a nice walking trail all the way around,..great fishing too..
Tell him to get a hold of me, I can show him around, I should be working in that area this summer..

Don’t forget the Racoon River – lots of eyes in there. Also, not too far south there are a ton of great lakes: Three Mile, Little River, Green Valley to name a few.
