We made it out on a little farm pond this after-noon. pretty slow but Jonathan did land a bass right away. we start off off different ends of the pond, im throwin my secret lure i got hit hard put pullin across the bottom REALLY slow(i must of forgot what a fish feels like ) then i hear Jonathan yellin that he had one, so i was in a hurry and triped in a hole and broke the cell phone! got the picture of the bass. then we both thought it would be a nice day of bass fishing, but we were wrong, but it was still a good time to get out!

I got out today on our pond/lake for a couple hours. I didnt catch anything over 15″ but caught about 12-14 bass. About half came on jerkbaits, 3-4 on a senko and 2 on a drop shot. It was cold and windy, but great to get out. Not long now!!!

Yep, its all about getting out there and breathing the fresh air- keep working at it, dont get in a hurry. If you are familiar with the pond it helps this time of year. Fish very slooowly around cover/objects/breaks – most of the fish I caught were in 8-10 fow near something.

    LOL!!!!
Ya know what is really funny? I just happened to look at the pic of your bass and think, “hey, that pond looks alot like” and then I see where your from and I realize, “that is THE POND “. Been fishing that pond for 24 years. Back in the early 90s it had huge bass in it.
BTW, on one trip out there I saw the 3 largest bluegills I have ever seen in my life. They were swimming together and I only saw them the one time…..but they were huge!!

Back in the late 70’s early 80’s 5 and 6 lb bass were quite common. You could usually pull one or two each trip out. Then some people started keeping them and the size of the bass went down drastically. Then the 12-15″ bass were very plentiful. I don’t fish it as much as I used to. But I can say the quality of the bass is getting better. Most of the MOGAMBO fish I see in there now are grass carp. Largest bass I have caught in there in the last 5 or so years was around 3 lbs.

Hey ducks4me, me and my brother fish that pond alot during the summers, he is the one who got us permission to fish it from bob, but last year he pulled out a nice 3 1/2- 4 lb bass, but any time we go out we usally get a few 15-16 inchers

I remember back in the late 70s early 80s I would use an ultralite rod to catch those bass. Was a blast!! The south end of the pond was almost all moss instead of weeds. Those bass would stack up right along the edge, waiting for an easy meal…..or the right lure.
Ever try a mouse on those weeds? Lots-O-Fun!!!!
