If you’re coming from anywhere in Grundy county, you can go through Vinton and there are a pair of bait shops on the main drag. Haven’t been to PC in over a month, but the last few times we were there we massacred the white bass in the last hour before sunset, just wait for ’em to get up on the surface and pitch a jig and twister, or a rattle trap fast action and good fightin’ can’t beat it.

Quicky-mart on the North end of Palo at the 4-way stop also carries bait.
I haven’t been there in probably two months, but a good guess is outside weed-edges deep for bluegills and perch. Don’t be afraid to fish within swimming distance of the main ramp if you’re looking for panfish. 
Muskies should be starting their fall feeding frenzy soon as well, might give them a shot.
