    Two days to go!

Hopefully most if not all of our visitors to IDA have heard of this event and have it on your calendars. If not, here’s the scoop.

Each year we have a ‘gathering’ made up of visitors to In-Depthangling.com. This year’s event is to be held on Saturday July 31st. You need not be a registered member or a regular contributor to this website to participate. If you heard about the event here, you belong there! Friends and family are welcomed as well.

We start the day fishing a FREE-No Entry Fee tournament. No need to register. The fishing starts at 7 AM for bass, walleye and sauger, the night before for the catfish categories. To make an entry into our tournament for prizes all you need do is get your largest fish weighed at Everts Resort by 3 PM.

We have brand NEW St.Croix rods to be given away as top prizes in the walleye, smallmouth, largemouth, channel cat and flathead categories. Plus a new CUSTOM St. Croix for the largest walleye in our youth division. We also have gobs of other nice prizes including rods, reels, tackle and gift cards.

After the tournament weigh in is completed everyone is asked to share a picnic style meal with us. We’ll do the cooking, all you need bring is your appetite! We’ll have a fresh fish fry along with brats, dog, potato salad, beans, chips, pop and beer (adults only).

After the meal we encourage socializing and story swapping. A HUGE bonfire kicks on the evening festivities and it is typical for a large group of people to participate in generalized nonsense and fun-making well past midnight.

If you can’t make the tournament, no problem. You’re invited to show up for the meal only and you still be eligible for door prizes!

Driving directions to Everts Resort can be found at Everts Resort If you are interested in camping with us at the resort, give Steve Vick at Everts a call and reserve a camping spot. We expect to have a great turn out this year with all the cabins full, a good number of campers expected and people showing up with tents. Come spend a day or even the better part of your weekend with us. I guarantee you’ll have a ball!

No boat? No problem! The bass and pike, many of which are in the low – mid 30″ range are being caught off the docks in good numbers.

We hope to see you there with friends and family!

I just got further word from St. Croix that they’ve sent us out 2 additional rods that we’re going to be able to give away as ‘wild card’ rods. We’ll take all the people that weighed a fish and DIDN’T win a category and toss their names in a hat and draw for 2 winners this way. So make sure you weigh in SOMETHING in one of the categories. You just might go home with a brand new St. Croix rod!
