It is so much more comfortable fishing at night with the heat waves we’ve been having, but with low water levels where are the fishes? Upstream are the rubbish fish and out in the main channel not a bite.
Are you guys having any luck out, if so where?
One week water level is up and the next it drops dramatically. yo-yo levels.

We’ve been getting some nice channels in the creeks on our dittypoles Mox. We’re baiting with shrimp and letting the shrimp ride the surface or just a couple inches under it. Try a little shallower water and see if that does any good for you. We’ve been getting ours next to the bank and some in pretty shallow water. We had one on the other night that was in 10″ to 12″ of water and the no. 1 forged eagle claw was bent, a 10 pounder won’t do that… That proves the big ones are coming in very shallow to feed, that’s where alot of there food is. He must have been a pretty nice fish because we were taking fish off and rebaiting every 1/2 hour. again didn’t have time to pole fish. We spent all our time just going up and down the bank from the boat taking fish off and rebaiting.

I think that’s my problem, I see the water level low and I have no faith in fish being in that shallow. I will keep your advice in mind though. Thanks Mossy!

Try putting your bait in 2′ too 4′ of water in a calm spot next to faster water, it doesn’t have to be real fast water, and see what that does, hope this helps. Me and the old man used to float bobbers with either minnows or shrimp in 2′ too 4′ of water and fill a stringer with channels. If catfish fed only in deeper water, alot of them would have hungry stomachs, that’s why they come along the edge to feed on smaller baitfish that aren’t out deep.
