Im my quest for Bass this past weekend I ended up working a 12 foot area with a crankbait and found giant walleyes with an attitude for the bluegill pattern. I must have boated 45 in the 2 – 9 lb class. They were all over the board. The 2 that were right at 9 were longer than my arm. Good thing I had a scale because I would have swore that they would go 10. -grin- I took 3 in the 4lb class for a nice meal but I realized I still don’t like fish. Good thing the neighbors were over and couldn’t get enough. I didn’t realize how many walleyes pleasant creek had until I targeted them for a few hours.

Sounds like you had fun. At least a heck of a lot more fun the I had up here dodging rain drops.

I fish that lake alot and have caught some nice walleyes myself. I have not been there yet this year other than through the ice. Were you down by the high lines? I ahve had good luck on the flat by the fishing jetty out from the shelter on the big boatramp side of the lake down in the park.

This was a little point that extends out and drops off into deep water out in front of the beach. If you are not watching your depth finder you will never find it. Its a great little spot for large bass during post spawn so imagine my surprise when it was choked full of walleyes.

Let me get this straight, you don’t like fish or don’t like to eat fish? You didn’t go there after dark and didn’t call me did ya? Sounds like you had a good time, and sorry I missed the fish fry. I sure like eyes, next best thing to northerns.

This is good news indeed. Being a newcomer to CR, I have heard there are ‘eyes in there, but have had my doubts because the lake receives so much fishing pressure.

You may have saved me $30 in gas money this weekend. Shoot, I may be changing my plans. I was gonna head over to the Specht’s Ferry area of pool 11 or clear up to pool 9 or 10, but if they are bitin’ this close homeI might have to drop the boat in and see what we find. You did leave us some, right?

About 2 weeks back, I had luck trolling fire-tiger shad raps in about 15′ of water with the bass, but nothing was over 15″. We were trying for ‘eyes. Funny how that goes, you go fishing for bass and catch walleye, I go fishing for walleye and catch bass…

    Regards,

    Joe
