caught her in the 18 acre pond by my house (iowa farm ponds!!) it was at night on a full moon on a spinnerbait- thought i had a catfish on for awhile, then i thought i was the new iowa record holder for largemouth. In case you are wondering, i put her in a weigh in bag to photo, weigh and measure then released her back to spawn.

Thats a very nice fish, congrats. Farm ponds are definately your best bet for trophy bass in Iowa. My biggest largemouth to at 22 inches 6.5 pounds came out of a pond too. Also, good job releasing the fish. Its very important to release trophys so they can spawn and I wish more people would.

Super BASS, way to go, was it from the same pond as you nice one earlier in the month. WOW a sleeper pond. Night fishing can be great, and also no one can see you catching big mama’s. way to go on the release. Jack..

Iowa farm ponds rock and those are GREAT fish. I don’t bass fish but I caught and released a 22 incher about 5 years ago in my grandpa’s farmpond. They can’t resist live lepord frogs on top of the moss!!
