    Here is a picture of the state record muskie for Iowa.The monster made 52#’s and was caught off Spirit Lake, Iowa.

    I wish there was something in either picture closer to the fish that would give a better idea of it’s size. The picture I had at one time was of the guy who caught it holding it right after weighing.

    The story I heard at the time was that he landed the fish, was able to stuff it’s head in his livewell enough to keep it submerged, and headed for an official weigh-in site. On the way, it reportedly barfed up a pair of seagulls and some other assorted lunch-meat.

    Now that might all just be wild rumors, but it sure makes for a cool fish story!
