Had an absolute fantastic time catching crappie and bass tuesday evening in a southern Iowa farm pond. the pond is a water shed project and is slowly silting in and is about 2 acres in size. my nephew and i put the canoe in at 6pm and by 8pm had caught about 15 bass from 8″ to about 3lbs and nearly 85 crappie from 4″ to 11″. caught all the bass on a wacky worm set up with no weight and the crappie were biting anything small, jigs, in-line spinners, beetle spins. what a hoot! had a swell time. didn’t bring the camera for fear of up setting the canoe and dumping it in the pond. get out there and hit some of those ponds you have been wanting to fish. the fish are hungry!
