Ok, its a little belated, but its been a busy week.
I was fortunate enough to make it up to Devils Lake last weekend to try for those imfamous perch. And better yet, it was with a buddy that’s lived there for many years and knows the lake VERY well. Well, the perch fishing was quite slow. We managed only a couple of real nice jumbos, but the going was tough.
At about 5pm we decided to target some crapies that my buddy had painstakingly found a honey hole. It was nothing short of amazing. 4 of us landed 30 HOGS in just under 2 hours. 
They completely shut off about a 1/2 BEFORE dark, which is so odd to me. But, as Im told, not much catching goes on after dark in this lake. Our average fish was 13″+, the best was 15″ and weighed in at 2lb2oz. What an evening. We did head back the next night, and managed about 1/2 that good, which was still excellent.
