Hwy 281

    How is the “new” hwy 281 around the west side of Devils Lake coming? Will be traveling that way on Memorial Weekend, and was just wondering. Are they going to close the existing hwy after it is done? It is always fun to drive that strech and see the houses in the lake and all the people fishing.

    There are gates up from Minnewauken North to HWY 19 so you will need to go on HWY 19/281 Around the old 281 and then hookup on the eastbound 19 like you used to,

    There are NO gates north of Minnewaukan. Only in the winter.

    So then, it sounds like no detour? That will be cool. My 7 y/o son and 13 y/o niece will get a kick out of the lake being so close to the road. Thanks for the help guys. Sherm
