The lake will rise until July. If we get some major rainfall events it will be longer.
Most of the inflow is from my end from the Mauvais Coulee and through Channel A in Six Mile Bay. For the level to stabilize, water has to flow east under two bridges in Mission Bay by the Casino, through two culverts under the Wood/Rutten Road and through 5 more culverts into the channel that flows into Stump Lake south of Lakota.
Once it is into Stump Lake it must rise 15 more feet until it is level with Devils Lake, than the lake will rise. What is happening now is the flow into Stump Lake is less than the flow into the Devils Lake due to the culverts and bridges.
Also you need to take into account the inflow from Lake Alice and Lake Ervin north of Devils Lake that act as buffers to slow the runoff into Devils Lake. They are holding back water and release into Channel A and Mauvais. That is why the lake will continue to rise slowly and seek a stabile level sometime late this summer.
