Looks like they have one model left in stock. The rest are preorder or coming soon.
“coming soon” models are in on Nov 30th it says but not sure when pre orders are in.
Got my rod today was excited to check it out pulled it out of the rod tube. Broken tip kind of bummed. I messaged Frostbite hopefully they can get me a new one soon.

Bummer, I have a a True Grit coming and a Drench coming in the Burnt series. Hoping they arrive in good condition.
Well I got my True Grit in the mail today and the top guide is rotated about 90 degrees away from the rest. So either I am not aware of some new design or this is wrong.
I ordered one last year and it was the same off center tip. Shi* quality control.

I have reached out so we will see what the response is. At least I didnt order the Medallion version so they were ‘relatively’ inexpensive.
Hope you don’t want a new rod anytime soon. Took over 2 weeks to receive my order from them

Yea i am starting to look at other options. Either TUCR or JT customs. Other options?
I hear great things about the Commander, just not sure I like the action on that rod. Doesnt look like it bends much after the first quarter.

Is the tip of these rods tied or or a glued on ferrule tip top?
If it’s a glued on tip top you can probably heat it and turn it in line with the others.
Got a response today from Frostbite. They are going to send me a new one once they are in stock… not sure how long that will be though.
In the meantime they suggested trying to heat the tip with a lighter to release the glue. I will report back after I screw this up

That’s a fly tip top mostly likely held on with high temp hot glue. Just use a little heat on the tube and you should be able to turn it easily. A heat gun is ideal but a lighter or candle will work too… just go slow.

Thanks for the advice!

Whats the deal with frostbite? Their website has been down for some time now.
I heard some rumors on change of ownership or something but nothing solid.
Tuned up, JT, Thorne, Elliot and numerous other local builders right here in MN.
Why not support MN business? All the above rods are high quality and hold their value. I’ve never dealt with Elliot customer service but Tuned up, JT, and Thorne are five star.
John at tuned up will get back to you on weekends.
The customer service at Tuned Up is the best and I will be a customer for a long time!
Posted that they expect the website back up today.
I will say I have been happy with Frostbite’s customer service. The first rod they shipped had a broken eyelet, I sent them a picture and they sent another out without question. I’ll be ordering from them again when I need another rod.
Not good for a new company to ship a bunch of broken rods. Hopefully they get it figured out and make things right.

I love TUCRs.. I have two myself. I wish they had inventory they could ship out right away. Sometimes you’re in a crunch to buy a rod before a trip that’s a week away and the long lead times don’t work for that. I would buy a TUCR or Elliot rod in a heartbeat if I could find one somewhere that’d be here next week.
