The dinner bells do not look like anything special? Am I missing something.

Basically any other spoon out there. If I saw one on shelves, I’d give it a try though. I’ve seen Clayton Schick catch some big walters on the dinner bell. Not going out of my way to pick one out though.

i think clayton schick fishes more in one week than most fish all year. and on top of that he fishes trophy walleye lakes like last mountain, winnepeg and tobin to name a few. if you want to catch big eyes you have to fish trophy destinations to give you the best chance.

That was previously my experiance as well except my last order placed a few weeks ago was delievered from a MN Suite address, so they must have opened a MN warehouse to speed up US orders?

I ordered Friday Nov. 12. Both plastics, bells, and 2 rods. Plastics and bells showed up in about 4 days and then the rods shipped separate about 3 days later. So I had it all in about 1 week. Not amazon, but not bad either. Right in line with my expectations.

Funny I see this post today…

I placed an order with them on Nov 27 for some plastics, dinner bells, tantrums and a Dump Truck rod. Shipping email said all was enroute.

I received it all yesterday, except the fishing rod….. Now, I’m not sure if maybe the mail carrier missed it in his truck, it’s lost in shipping somewhere or if Frostbite screwed it up. I did email them mentioning I received my order minus the rod this morning (haven’t received a response yet). I’m hopeful that small town mail carrier just messed up, but now after reading this post I maybe a victim of their ineptitude… Guess we’ll see!

Why buy the knock off Dinner Bell when you can get the Demon Tongue from the person who original made the lure.

Probably because the maker of these lures doesn’t advertise very well… I didn’t even know this company existed until now.

    *and they’re a bit cheaper as well…

Also, the Demon Tongues seem to be perpetually out of stock.

If you were gonna order Dinner Bells for walleye on Red and Mille Lacs what size and colors would you order?

Remember guys…This is a new fishing company started by a youtuber. Allot of these youtubers became popular overnight because they were at the forefront of a “new” industry. They then realized to monetize their product, they needed to sell merchandise. Merchandise is what makes them the real money.

What they do is gain a following then re-brand tackle with their name on it. Allot of this stuff is already out there. You should expect problems compared to dealing with a more established brand, like Northland.

I’ve watched some of his videos and I actually lived for a period down the street from him when he lived on Mille Lacs. I didn’t know the guy personally, but I talked to his old man a few times. That being said, I know every spot he fishes on Mille Lacs because I can tell where he is based on the background. None of his spots are great, and he doesn’t catch any more fish than the average, decent, Mille Lacs fisherman.

My advice; If you want a teaser on your flutter spoon add an extra teaser that comes with a swedish pimple to the o-ring. That’s all the teaser is on this lure, it’s just in the middle of the spoon. I’m sure the spoon catches fish, but most flutter spoons on Mille Lacs catch fish. In fact, swedish pimples have probably caught more walleyes on Mille Lacs than any other spoon and still do.

For those who have order and received how are the rods? I’m interested in a couple longer rods for the price point of 55-60$.

I did finally receive both of my frostbite rods (drench and true grit, both vantablack series). I have a few TUCR (commander 38 power precision, Bull whip). TUCR better based off feel but haven’t used the frostbite yet….. I got the frostbite true grit 38 and drench 39, both are really nice. If you are in the $50-60 range then twilight series in those rod types would be a good option depending on what u are using for…For your price point I’d pull the trigger on them but have low expectations on shipping time. I’d go for these vs some mass production large company rod

Good info Brian I appreciate it! If I’m spending over a $100 it’s gonna be on a TUCR but I’m definitely interested in the twilight series as it’s hard to find a decent long rod 39-40” in the $55 price range. Tight lines all

Seeing some youtubers ice lure collection seems way excessive. How could someone use it all?
Judging by the barometric pressure and menstrual cycle of the Protho layardi butterfly of Australasia, the walleye want blue dots with red. Red dots with blue just wont do.

Its likely true the Swedish pimple and bare hook have caught the most fish but there are justifications for having different sizes/styles for lethargic vs active fish in different water clarities. Channels like the Angling Buzz describe the benefits of different baits very well, like a panfish jig designed to slightly scoot forward on the descent. Having excessive boxes beyond that just seems like more things to take up space.

This year I have focused on downsizing my collection, been selling alot. My excess lure collection is going to be divided up among three kids for Christmas.

You heard how terrible the ordering and shipping is and it peaked your interest?

    BC,
Lol i hear ya! I’m looking for a couple longer rods around 40” and I don’t wanna spend $130+ on a TUCR as I’m super hard on my stuff.

Look up JS Outfitters once. He makes extremely affordable custom rods that are a good bargain. I’m not sure if they make them up to 40″ or not, but worth a shot. When I ordered one last season the wait was under 2 weeks.

I did get an email response from them the day after I reached out. Still waiting on my rod, but they said it should ship a few days after the lures. So we’ll see if it shows up next week. If it does, then my overall experience will Frostbite has been a positive one, being it was my first order from them and the world is upside down these days.

That little flap triggers me but between the shipping rate and lack of inventory I backed out.

If you are really hard on your gear then you should consider a TUCR rod. The eyes on the rod are very durable if you bend them. Also they have great customer service and to me that’s worth spending extra.

I thought Frostbite was owned by Alex Peric, Aaron Wiebe and a few other Canadians?

Got my rod today, 39” H Dump Truck (twilight). As far as quality, it seems good on the surface, but hard to say until I get it out and bomb for lakers this year.

Overall, I’d say my experience with Frostbite was a positive one. Got a little scared initially when my rod didn’t show up with the rest of my order, and after reading some of the posts here, but in the end everything went smooth. I wouldn’t hesitate to order from them again!

My rod showed up. Action feels great. Soft tip with a loading spine.
