The Chiefs last night reminded me of the Vikings…. show everyone what they’re capable of in the last 6 minutes while losing.

As we were watching the game last night my wife walked in and said “are we watching a Vikings game?” Felt exactly like the Vikes.

A few years ago Jalen Carter was projected as a top-3 pick but was an accessory to a bit of trouble and “fell” (relatively speaking) to the Eagles at #9.

They also got Nolan Smith from that draft, both him and Carter didn’t have the greatest rookie years, which one big reason was why Sirianni got a lot of heat last year. Turns out it takes some guys a season to get settled into the NFL, and those two had great years and are going to be problem for years to come.

While I wanted the Chiefs to 3-peat, last night showed, again, that the deadliest weapon in football is a dominant DL.

I’m glad 8 didn’t waste the evening/ night watching that Bleepbowl. When I checked in on the score as we were about to leave the party late on the 4th I thought well that was a little lopsided, but I thought there must have been some back and forth.

Then I watched the quick highlights this morning… Yeah, no.

I think Kelce will be seriously considering retirement soon. He’s been testing the waters, doing acting cameos on TV series, etc. He’s got default mega-star power through his girlfriend – who knows how long that will last, but I think he could live VERY comfortably if he capitalizes on it life after football opportunities while his star is still shining. At a minimum he will have a broadcasting career if he wants it. If meathead Gronk can do it, I think Kelce will be fine.

I think so too. His production is just not what it used to be and this past season’s stats prove it. Granted, KC is not the high-flying offense they once were, but his production dang near fell off a cliff this past season. I had him on my FF team and only started him during weeks he had a generous matchup on paper.

He’s had a heck of a career but it might be time to hang it up. Father Time catches up to everyone, including hall of famers. He started the season especially slow; it almost appeared that he was out of shape.

He is making more $$$$$$ off the football field anyway.
And he can always ask TS for a bigger allowance. whistling

Exactly! Why keep getting beat-up and risking more serious things down-the-line. Get out while the gettin’s good.

I don’t think he needs an allowance, the New Heights podcast he does with his brother just got a $100M deal. Plus he made $93M in the NFL thus far. He’s already a HOF TE, not sure why he’d come back to tarnish his legacy at a fraction of the money as I’m sure KC will expect a discount after his lack of production this year. KC needs to rework their entire offensive skill positions around Mahomes. Rashee Rice and Worthy are about the only 2 I’d be interested in keeping around as they are young and promising. Everyone else is over the hill or not that great to begin with.

I’d put money on Kelce staying in KC for another year. I believe he’s said so, not that everything athlete’s say is true. If they win a SB he’ll retire, and if they don’t win a SB next year, then he’ll go play 1 year for whoever the top dog team is. Meanwhile Tay-Tay will walk away-way when he becomes consumed with vengeance.

Eagles defense was outstanding last night. They’ve been stout all season. No, or bad adjustments by KC all around. Philly even went the entire game without a blitz!!! Hopefully some of these comparisons of Mahomes to Brady can stop, they just aren’t logical. Apples and Oranges. Kinda like the Jordan vs LeBron stuff. Different eras and to many different rules. Brady played when head hunting was still applauded and Ma’flopper plays with extra QB protection and still tries to draw more flags. Myself among millions of fans were very happy that there weren’t yellow flags everywhere all game.

Man, you football guys are such Debbie downers. I think you need to…wait for it…

And the players gonna play, play, play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
I’m just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
Shake it off. Shake it off.

C’mon! You know you wanna sing it with me now…

To add to my post earlier about how well the Eagles management put a team together, I saw today that they have gotten a contributor from each of their draft picks in rounds 1-3 in each of the last three years, totaling 12 contributors. The Vikings, in that time and those rounds, have one.

Apparently you forgot about the tuck rule.
Aren’t all the modern rules to protect QBs a direct result of trying to protect Brady. LOL
We won’t talk about deflategate, spygate, etc
