Freshwater Shrimp? Or mayfly larva?

    I was recently ice fishing on a eastern SD slough and I saw a little bug scooting across my hole just below the ice and the weeds below me were littered with them just sitting on them. I duck hunt on this slough and my decoys and waders will be covered in them by them time we are done hunting. The slough is known to grow big perch and walleye but not much due to the pressure. I was wondering what this little bug is.

    Shrimp is my guess. See them in NoDak a lot too

    IF this is what you saw it is a scud some also call the shrimp

    Devils lake is full of them
