Would anyone know the where abouts of all the previous Freeze Your Butt Results. I know this tourney has been going on for a long time as I have fished it on and off for the last 15 years or so. Even if people have old paper copies I’d be willing to transcribe them and get them into electronic format.

An IDO google search will give you results back to about 2007, I am not sure for info before then
@walleyefool (Eric) has been running them lately. He will know where to get you the info.
I only have the current results from when I started doing it. Jon Jordan may have some other intel as he was the one doing it before me.
All of the results from the years I helped run it are posted here on IDO. The search noted above will get you there. I fished the FYB for the first time in 1988 or 89 and it was going for at least 10-12 years before that!

I first fished it in ’83, it was at the back channel landing that year. I have always believed it was the brainchild of Gary Polikowski from rochester. He had a custom painted 16′ black Lund with a 40 evinrude for years.
’83 was likely the first year of the walleye searchers tourneys too. Meetings were started in Rick Cordies basement the winter before.
Bruce Selle helped Gary run it for a few years after his health went south.

Hey Glenn @GlennMarshall I believe you are right on all counts. Now I have a ?? for you. Back in the early days of TFB there were VERY FEW tourneys back then. Now the ?. I was told by a old time in the early yrs. of the FB that there a lot more boats in the tourney than there is now? Right.? The old timer told me that at one of Butts he was in line to sign up. An he would have been the next boat to sign up when Gary said that’s it we are not taking any more boats. An the cut off was at a 120 boats. Is that right or wrong if you can remember back that far. LOL. . rrr

I believe the reason entry fees and boat counts were kept at certain limits was to avoid having to get a permit for the derby.
Gary was an early and long time member of the Walleye Searchers.
I can’t remember boat counts but 60, 70 or more boats has alway been a good turn out.
RRR I’ve been there when registration was cut off because they started the tourney. I’m not sure if this is the case that you’re talking about or not.
On the other hand at the saugerama, folks could (can) enter after the start if there’s someone around to register them.
