Woodbury, Minnesota Cabela’s® Announces Free Fall Walleye Fishing Event

Woodbury, MN. (September 9, 2014) – As the weather starts to cool and the daylight hours shorten many folks start to prepare for the upcoming hunting seasons, but for the passionate walleye fisherman it is that time to get on the water and go after a fish of a lifetime. It is during the fall fishing season that walleyes start to feed more aggressively to prepare for the long cold winter; and for the brave walleye anglers that hit the water during this cold time of year catching walleyes can be downright easy at times when you attack these fall waters in the right way.
Cabela’s in Woodbury, Minnesota has put together a lineup of seminars to help you gain the skills and knowledge needed to put one of those monster walleyes in your boat this fall! All three seminar speakers have a great background in walleye fishing and each speaker brings something different which will make for a fun event.
First in the lineup is Trolling for Monster Fall Walleyes with Danny Thompson at 12pm. Danny Thompson is a Marketing Manager for Cabela’s and is no stranger to catching big walleyes in Minnesota waters. He is new to the walleye tournament fishing world but in his first season brought home a 3rd place finish on Mille Lacs Lake in the AIM Weekend Walleye Series, a 21st place finish on Leech Lake in the AIM Weekend Walleye Series, and Won the AIM Minnesota State Championship on Lake Winnibigoshish with partner Bjorn Horgen. As a team Bjorn and Danny brought home $14,800 in cash and prizes for the season.
Second in the lineup is Fishing Fall Mississippi River Walleyes with Jim Peters at 1pm. Jim Peters is a wealth of walleye fishing knowledge and has over 20 years of experience guiding and tournament fishing walleyes. Jim resides in Hastings, Minnesota so the Mississippi River is his home body of water. Guiding is Jim’s true passion as he is a Coast Guard Licensed Caption that specializes in brining folks on a fishing trip they will never forget. Jim’s passion and knowledge of walleye fishing is second to none.
Third in the lineup is Live Bait Rigging Trophy Walleyes In The Fall with Bryan LaPointe at 2pm. Bryan LaPointe is a Cabela’s Fishing Department Expert and former FLW Walleye Tour Pro. With over $6,500 in cash won while fishing the FLW Walleye Tour Bryan knows how to consistently put big walleyes in the boat especially with live bait rigs. Bryan has fished walleyes all over North America and has been able to share his passion for walleye fishing with everyone he meets since he went Pro in 2003.
All seminars are free to anyone who attendees so this will be a great opportunity for the whole family to join in on the fun.
