Weather: Rain and Wind Saturday, Rain Sunday
    Water: high and stained
    Water Temp: 65 to 70
I planned to fish Pease creek. In practice we had a few small fish in Pease. On Saturday a.m. it rained 4″ and the lake rose 8″ and was very muddy in some areas but despite the mud we managed to scratch out one very small limit on watermelon flukes and tubes.
Sunday water had cleared a bit so we went to the dam and caught 2 limits once again very small on crankbaits and spooks. We also fished Prairie Dog and upgraded our limits on watermelon tubes pitched to russian olive trees along the flooded bank.
I Finished in 4th place with 10 fish 6.6 lbs.
First place was won in the north point area on buzz baits around the boat docks. 8 fish 11.25 lbs with a big fish 3.25 lbs.

    Congrats!!

The smallie fishing in SD on the Missouri river is quite the sleeper.

I was there the weekend before the tourney, couldn’t believe how high the water was. The thought was to put on a larger/louder blade due to the dirty water. It worked, the bass to walleye ratio was 2-1. the best sized fish were right in the bay, casting to the rip-rap and submerged willows with white twisters. The biggest walleye and sauger (and 2 large crappies) were caught right from shore at sundown. If the water keeps going up, i can’t imagine where I would fish, I guess in the trees.

I know I found myself in a bean feild at one point. The water came up 10″ from Friday to Sunday.
I also caught 4 walleye on flukes on sunday biggest one was 19″ and it was good on sunday night for dinner. The other 3 were 15 to 16″.
They were up in the flooded trees.
