We took a little trip up to Pickstown this past weekend and fished Francis Case and below the dam. Friday night we fished the dam and were able to limit out on walleye in the 14.5 to 17 inch range. We ate good that night at 3 am when we finally got back to camp. Saturday morning we wokeup around 10 am and decided to put on Francis Case. It was my first time on the lake, but we managed to find some fish, albeit small fish. Saturday night we put in down below the dam again to try and get some more walleye. The catfish were on fire! I think I landed 3 channels in the 10 lb range, with several others from 1lb to 10, along with another limit of eater sized walleye. Sunday we decided to venture downstream to try and locate some bigger walleye. The biggest walleye of the trip was 20.5 inches and came on a spinner bait of all things. Not a bad trip, but I believe the walleye below the dam have been picked through fairly well, and I think venturing downstream will produce bigger fish. We were having the best luck on 3/8 ounce jigheads tipped with crawlers.
good time
