Looking at ordering a pair of bibs online and was wondering if anyone out there had a set of I2’s and if so how they like them. I’m looking for something that will keep me warm and dry spring, fall and winter on boat and ice. Any recommendations?

I love my frabill snosuit, but it’s discontinued. Frabils site sucks as their descriptions for both of your choises are identical. For on the boat I would look for minimal insulation but excellent wind and waterproofness. I would also look for the ability to vent. I like the versatility to wear a fleece under it for added warmth or remove but still be waterproof. Back to their specs, if you can find a retailer that carries both get your hands on them, but as last resort, order both and return the undesired one. But before ordering research the return policy.

This is a bit of a bump but I am looking at the same question. Looking at getting either the frabill I2 or I3 for pool 4 fall/winter/early spring fishing. Don’t imagine I would be out in much colder than 25ish.

What I would like to do is to wear my Under armour baser layer 3.0, a hoodie, and then my jacket. Is the I2 enough for that or should I go I3? Only thing local I can find is the I5.

I would think that the I2 would be plenty for your application. I have the I3 and wear my base 3.0 under it with another light jacket or a hoody on top while ice fishing down to temps in the -10-0 range and I have never gotten cold. I have even worn these on a 30 mile snowmobile ride to the lake when it was -17 at the parking lot when we left and I never got cold. Very well made.

I have an I2 and I4 suit. The I2 suit has been great with zero complaints above 10 degrees. I opted for an I4 suit last year as it was a deal I couldn’t pass up. It is great, but it is WARM. An I2 suit would be just fine under 10 degrees with proper layering. My type of fishing is generally either running and gunning or in a house without a coat, so I don’t like to layer all that much.

The new design for the bibs are something to get used to, but you will really learn to like if you are holding fish in your lap a lot (keeps water from seeping in).

Figure I’d offer an update. After much debating I bought the frabill I2. When I got it home it just didn’t seem like what I was looking for. Looked at an i3 and really liked it but wound up with a ice armor extreme.

I went this route because I liked that the extreme had a removable liner so essentially I got the equivalent of the I2 and i3.
