Out here on the east coast we have been pounded with storm after storm. Its been awhile since I could do any drilling. Today I got an invite to hunt slabs. Hunt we did. We put about a dozen from 14-17 0n the ice. Normally we don,t keep those. Todays spot was deep. Around 40 ft. Sad to say but we keep most. I landed a 16 1/2 and a 17. They weighed 2 3/4 and 3 lbs. It wasn’t without some work as we had to walk a mile round trip. The snow machines had it firmed up some but it still took a toll on us older folks.

    Great job!

Andy I’ll trade for some of those Walleye. We are not allowed those here.

I still think I’d trade all of the walleyes I’ve caught in my life to get on crappies like that! Wow! Looks like one day I’m going to have to make a trip out West to South Dakota and Idaho for the behemoth perch and then one out East to chase around those gigantic slabs!

    Bee,

Nice days work, and you got your exercise as well! I agree with icefanatic, I would trade Walleye fishing for Crappie fishing like that. I have always wanted to visit the upper east coast area, maybe a road trip once I retire.

I was up at the Duluth Aquarium and they have some Toad Crappies in their tanks, it’s worth the stop if your in the area and want to see some huge freshwater fish.
