If you know the cell provider you may be able to call them and get assistance.

Doesn’t work unless the phone isn’t passcode protected. Not sure why people think this is a security loophole.

I found a locked Iphone. Using Siri I contacted someone that turned out to be the owners Sister. She called his wife and once home, he came back to get it.
I don’t recall what I used. I know it wasn’t “call home”.Either way, 911 works and they can give you the number attached to the phone. Last resort of course.
