Found 6 ” of clear ice on a small lake/pond. most lakes thin ice to none. Got a lot of blue gills just on the out side edge of the weeds. Kept a few for dinner. The bite was hot with aggressive fish. Caught the largest ones with a small jigging rap.Did not have a camera on the ice but this is what I took home.

Nice – What area of the state was that in? Last weekend in Central Minnesota there wasn’t any lakes with people on. Some of the lakes that had people on them the weekend prior had open water on them.
West Central. But be very care full. This was the only spot that I went on the ice to check. all other lakes looked to ify. Most are obviously not safe. Just looking out at the water. This was a very small pond that holds some pan fish. NOT MUCH A LAKE. Though it is called a lake. This spot has always froze up before any other lakes.
