I parked one fellas rig that had one stuck to his steering wheel in the truck. I think he had a problem at one time or another.

The coloring book is a great idea. Give me something to do while I’m waiting for a catfish bite.

I installed a second bilge pump and can effectively keep up with a no drain plug situation. A cork of the proper size for the drain plug hole on the inside of the boat is also a good safety measure.

AIS law has increased sales of boat plugs, no doubt. It’s not uncommon to see 1 to 5 extra plugs in the apron of a boat on pool 4.

I’ve heard mixed reviews on thoughts automatic drain plugs.

The only concern with them is debris getting caught up in them. Keep your bilge somewhat clean and don’t allow such things as sunflower seeds to drop down there and they should be relatively bulletproof.

The key thing I like about them is they act as an automatic bilge pump as well. Get the boat up on plane and it will open up and drain whatever water may have accumulated.

Store your plug on the transom strap.

Because there have been some folks launching their boat and forgetting to put their drain plug in first…which causes the back end of the boat to be submerged…
