Drat. And I left my bagpipes in Scotland! Those would be perfect grazing on a hillside with a mysterious piper playing somewhere on in the background.

O ye’ll tak’ the high road, and I’ll tak’ the low road,
And I’ll be in Scotland a’fore ye,
But me and my true love will never meet again,
On the bonnie, bonnie banks o’ Loch Lomond.

I wish I was ready to bring cattle on my land. Is this something you are involved in or just “holding (posting) for a friend”?

For a friend that is down sizing out of the country and into da city.
Once they are gone, they are gone.
Apparently cattle aren’t allowed where they are moving to. grin

How old are they? 100% grass/hay fed or grain supplemented?

The best thing about Highlanders is that they like to stomp on coyotes and wolves. I knew a guy who raised cattle up by Orr. He let a couple of these guys loose on his place and no more problems.

    Yes.

I’ll have to check on the age. Back later.

    stomp on coyotes and wolves.

That’s what the owner was telling me last night Steve. They don’t take any grief from a yote. Yet very friendly to people (unless they think a calf is being harmed). Then there’s the horns that they forget about from time to time I guess.

I grew up with Holsteins. The bulls and I never saw eye to eye and I’m glad to keep it that way. )

My bnl has some of these and they follow him around like big dogs. Even his herd bull Sparky walks up to him so he can rub his nose.

BK, i’d take one maybe more. You just need to handle a couple of things for me first.

    1) Build a fence. No electric either. A beast like that deserves a solid wood fence. I have about 4 acres I guess.

    2) Build a lean to for them for in the winter. If you handle #3 i’ll chip in on the supplies.

    3) Get it past the wife. I strongly suggest showing up and building the fence and lean to first and then tell her why. wink

BTW, I wouldn’t bring up sparklie boats with her. She reacted to mine the same way she will react to these cows. rotflol

Does pic #2 cost extra? Looks like it has some kind of experimental strain of weed growing on its head.

I have. They are generally a leaner cut of meat. They charge an arm and a leg for the meat also! It’s very high quality overall.
