I’m posting this for my neighbor lady. She lost her husband several years ago to cancer and has decided it’s time to sell some things. She has listed her 2020 Silverado LTZ 4 WD 6’5″ box with 11,000 miles on Facebook marketplace. Truck is in like new condition and priced at $47,250. Please do not contact me, you can message the seller on FB.

TTT Truck can be seen in St.Charles MN. It’s parked on a lot on highway 14 across from the fire station.
March 20, 2023 at 2:40 pm #2189899The seller has had her truck listed for 8 weeks on FB marketplace and locally. She has only had a few tire kickers but no serious buyers. What is your guys and gals opinion on why so little interest on a like new low miles Chevy truck? I’m not in the market for a new truck so have not been following used and new truck prices. Do you feel the asking price is too high? Are there other sites that she may want to list it on that would get more attention? Thanks in advance for your opinions!
March 20, 2023 at 2:53 pm #2189903For that price I would buy brand new with a lifetime power train Waranty for a few grand more. It’s a nice truck but tough sale.
MX1825Posts: 3319March 20, 2023 at 3:02 pm #2189905Like BC said price is a little high in my opinion. Vehicle prices are coming down. If I’m spending that much I would buy new. Just my .02
Coletrain27Posts: 4789March 20, 2023 at 3:03 pm #2189906look it up on nada and kelly blue book and it will give you a pretty good idea
March 20, 2023 at 3:09 pm #2189907BC brought up a good point on the warranty. A lot of dealers are offering lifetime powertrain warranties even on used vehicles. That and interest rates. Not sure what GM is doing now, but are they offering much more attractive financing on new vs buying used? May just have to start lowering the asking price.
March 20, 2023 at 3:41 pm #2189912Since you asked.
I bought a new ’22 F350 crew long gasser for $48k +tax.
The cost is the issue compared to new and a warranty.
When something has not sold in 2 months it is 99% the cost.
However, the dealer issued “lifetime warranties” have some VERY fine print…RainylakefisherPosts: 78March 20, 2023 at 3:49 pm #2189915I’m in the market for something just like this truck and I think that is an unrealistic expectation on the price. Not many people can pay cash for a vehicle at that price and interest rates aren’t helping her make a sale. I will pay cash for the the right vehicle, but I’m not going to travel two hours unless it’s a really good deal. There’s a lot more buyers in the TC than in St. Charles.
IceManBranPosts: 191March 20, 2023 at 3:53 pm #2189917These guys have it covered. Price isn’t competitive compared to what you can get a brand new one for with low rate financing. You’d be hard pressed to find someone with $50k cash laying around for a used truck who wouldn’t just buy a new one with warranty. Interest rates for used vehicle loans are consistently a point or two higher than for a new vehicle too.
March 20, 2023 at 3:58 pm #2189918I just looked up Kelly Blue Book and the private party sale range is
$48,950 to 53,200 with an average price of $51,000. Our local Chevy dealer has similar 2022 trucks on their lot that are MSRP at $65,000 and they are discounting $500. With sales tax and license you are well North of $65k.I know there are a lot of guys and gals on this site and others that say they would never buy a new truck or car. In my opinion you would be buying a like new truck for $20 grand less than new.Coletrain27Posts: 4789Coletrain27Posts: 4789RainylakefisherPosts: 78March 20, 2023 at 5:08 pm #2189933Like I said earlier, I’m in the market for something like this. I don’t know what you guys are entering on KBB, but I’m getting numbers $3 – $4k less than what you’re showing?? The LTZ only has a few other options that aren’t part of package (bedliner & running boards) and I’ve accounted for that and the low mileage. It’s not a Crew Cab… it’s a Double Cab.
I think the market is the best indicator of sales price. If it was a good deal, it would have sold already.
Coletrain27Posts: 4789March 20, 2023 at 5:22 pm #2189938if you dont like the price then why dont you make a offer? i dont understand all the price police on here all the time.

Sorry Rainy it is a double cab you are correct. My bad I thought it was a crew that does lower the price $3 to 4k.

The guy asked a question and he gave them a answer. What’s wrong with that. It was exactly what he asked, and he was 100 percent correct.
Coletrain27Posts: 4789MX1825Posts: 3319March 20, 2023 at 7:56 pm #2189967Hey C27 mm asked for an opinion on why it wasn’t getting any interest or offers. No one said they were interested in buying if it was cheaper. He asked and received opinions.
Coletrain27Posts: 4789March 20, 2023 at 9:29 pm #2189979That’s a nice looking truck, but just a tough time to sell used as dealers are caught up with supply chaos and capable of expediting financing.
For someone to drop $50k on a used truck via private sale, they likely need to have the money in hand or be comfortable going to a bank and figuring out financing for the agreed price. Dealers allow people to do a 1 stop shop with sales and can shop your loan to tons of cooperating financiers.
March 21, 2023 at 7:50 am #2190002That price is high. $40-42k it’ll sell, that’s if she wants to sell it and move on quick. If she wants every dime back she’ll be waiting still at $47k. You can also call local dealers and see if they’ll buy it.
Gitchi GummiPosts: 3119March 21, 2023 at 7:54 am #2190004just another thought.. the seller may be better off trying to use it as a trade in and upgrade their current vehicle rather than trying to spin it off as a private cash sale
March 21, 2023 at 8:35 am #2190017Thanks for all the great suggestions! I will pass them on to the seller and see what happens.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 23323March 21, 2023 at 8:40 am #2190018Id definitely have them go to a dealer and see about buying it. The market is down a bit now from when I sold mine, but I got 3k less than I paid for it and I drove it for 3 years.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 23323March 21, 2023 at 8:44 am #2190022That truck brand new is approaching 70k now. I just got my truck that I ordered back in Dec and when I ordered it the build sheet was 63k, but by the time it came in the actual sticker was 66k. I only paid 63k. There were NO incentives when I bought my truck and interest rates are terrible. Now there are some rebates and shorter term financing available. I should almost order a new one because I didnt get some of the things I really wanted on this one because they were unavailable.
March 21, 2023 at 11:18 am #219006670k for a new truck
half tonwould make me question my decisionsI must just be poorer than everyone else.
I’d have a hard time driving my truck through fields, throwing wood – brush – tools – animals, etc. in the back as I do daily at $70k regardless of size. My trucks get used as a truck and money is finite for me. To each their own though and kudos to those who have the big $ and spend it however they wish.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 23323March 21, 2023 at 11:31 am #219007070k for a new half ton would make me question my decisions
Not me. I make damn good money and like driving nice things.
