Great show! Thanks for sharing the excitement of one of those first ice bites. The emotion and excitement is palpable through your incredible production. Keep up the good work. Your consistent release of 20″ plus fish stands out. Great ambassadors for the sport we all love. Your sponsors should be proud.
December 22, 2015 at 9:14 pm #15866562015 the year to voice anything the offends you. Can’t wait for 2016. I’m not taking any jabs but how many different shows name the bodies of water they are on? This one just hit home. Witnessing this first hand you get an influx 2 weeks at best and it really isn’t that much.
December 22, 2015 at 9:37 pm #1586662Really, you can’t be serious, so they have more info available doesn’t mean they have to post the lake, give me a break, your sayin you don’t have people that give you a tip on a need to know basis, the internet has put a hurtin on lots of waters, I don’t need to know the waters the are fishing good for them!! If you have to relie on shows and websites to catch fish that’s so sad, please post the waters your catching fish on and where, I’m old school, not sorry to vent on this stupid ass post, ugh !!!
December 23, 2015 at 6:04 am #1586690Outdraft – FWIW I fish Pool 4 often, OT, LOTW, URL (where a large continent is ice fishing as I type) along with a LOT of other anglers. Other than the normal strong to weak year classes, the fishing’s been just fine. Screaming the ‘sky is falling’ might be a little dramatic, IMHO…. Enjoy the influx of new dollars. Might be a refreshing boon in this dismal, El Nino winter.
December 23, 2015 at 8:01 am #1586703it was that darned tellyphone before, then the TV and now that darned interweb ruining lakes…. come on people…. get a clue

I personally don’t watch the ido shows, but Ive nearly quit fishing the highly harvested and highly reported fish species simply because of the drastic declines in fish populations, let alone inability for the majority of lakes to produce trophy’s due to said reporting and harvesting.
If you don’t believe reporting online plays an impact to many fisheries, you fish very little and keep the blinders on so you can’t see the walls in a narrow hallway.
December 23, 2015 at 12:02 pm #1586798yes, people did not talk about “hot bites” back in the day… before the internet, baitshops kept tight lips….you didn’t even have to use a hook, they just jumped into the boat…. of course the message gets spread faster and across all media types, is it the end of the world.. if it is for you… have at it ! (yes, you busted me, I don’t fish enuff or are you saying you want me posting every little fish I catch on the interweb ?)
December 23, 2015 at 12:21 pm #1586806I don’t know why everyone is still sitting here bickering about landlines and tube TV’s when there is a hot bite going on Lake Irvine in North Dakota? big_g we got a gaggle of cheeseheads hauling up some Amish fellers in a about 15 caravans tonight, if you’d like we need 1 more person to help fish it out before another TV show is filmed up there.
December 23, 2015 at 1:33 pm #1586834FBRM is right… I’ve seen more than one lake get completely fished out because of fishing pressure. And it was definitely because of the internet. One weekend there was a dozen vehicles there, the next there was 200, the next 500 on a small body of water. Word of mouth and telephone doesn’t spread the word that fast. Some big water can take it…. small waters can’t. Saying that fisherman can’t affect a fishery is simply ignorant.
That being said I think the IDO team does a good job of protecting the resources they are fishing. They encourage selective harvest, they talk about the importance of releasing the big ones… for all species, not just walleyes. But they also give you lots of information about how to find spots like they are fishing on your own and then catch the fish when you get there.
December 23, 2015 at 1:40 pm #1586837OMG… yes he is right. The internet reaches many people…. It is now the end of any future for said mentioned lake….. (Jesse.. I call shotgun)
December 23, 2015 at 8:01 pm #1586918If a news reporter walked up to me, put a gun to my head, and asked me for my 10 best fishing locations; and their intention was to do a press release within the day; id tell them to pull the trigger.
Hmmm… not the smartest thing I’ve heard today :???::???:
December 23, 2015 at 9:24 pm #1586930Re read my post, never said a word about the sky is falling, or large bodies of waters, I guess I was referring to smaller lakes, and yes just by the word of mouth the pressure on those lakes will increase without spreading the word on the internet, like I said Im glad if they don’t post the lake, and fyi I’m old and grew up on pools 4- 7 on the Mississippi
December 24, 2015 at 11:01 am #1587034Snitches get stitches….
As others have said those big name lakes usually get named on the show and that’s fine with me cause its no secret that there is a lake called leech lake and there are walleye there. From my time watching the show I think the James gang does a good job of keeping smaller lakes secret. “The James gang” I just came up with that. You can use that on the show James I only ask that you make me an honorary IDO team member
