This weekend after I got done Turkey hunting Friday. I drove home to get a start on our food plots. We tilled up our two plots from last year no problems. Then headed over to a new chunk of land to get started on a 3 acre and 4 acre plots. We have a good start on one just could not get the dirt to turn like we have in the past with our plotmaster so we are having a tiller rented going work on later today. A few pictures from yesterday.

Once we finish this up this week I will put some more pictures up. Took a ton of work to clear this field but it’s going to be awesome.

I’m totally envious of anyone who has so few rocks in their plots that they can rototill. It’s terrific that this is an option for you. I’ve got so much rock that all I’ll ever be able to do is disc, we’ve got a number of “roll over” rocks that are too big to move so we left them in the ground. As long as the disc can roll over them, they’re staying put.

The good news is once you get that field cleared, it’ll be paying you back for years. Nothing more satisfying than looking out on a nice green plot. I also think that plots are a big benefit to all wildlife, and IMO having food available both late and early in the season can only help the does and the fawn production.

What are you planting in these plots?

In the one we have in the pictures will be mixture corn and brassica. Then our other field on this land will have beans.

This one we did the same day a few miles away from the one above. We cleared up last year. It was a lot easier to till over this year. We put a mixture blend of chicory ,oats, clover I think it was called hammer mix. These two plots we cannot spray but they turned out good last year.

We had to get a friend over with his tractor to help us finish up turning our plots a few weeks ago. We planted a week ago today and the beans and barassica are popping. Corn has not yet but that should be starting soon.

Finally have our cameras out now to and did get one ok buck .

So far things are coming in good but the corn might be a fail. Here are a couple pictures after two weeks. First picture is barassica ,2nd our beans.
