So I posted a topic about which barrel length was recommended and got great responses.
Sadly I didn’t listen to any of them, sorry guys.
I purchased a Taurus PT111 Millennium G2, 9mm. It has the shortest barrel I was looking into so the exact opposite of recommendations. Now before you get mad I didn’t listen, I fully intended on a full size pistol with 4in barrel,i.e. the Taurus 24/7 G2, however I found in my searching Taurus seems to have run way behind on keeping inventory anywhere for that pistol, I could not find it anywhere. I asked a local small shop and his response was it wouldn’t be till this fall he could potentially get that pistol in as he was waiting for several pistols for his own sale.
So with that issue and the requirements I had set for myself which are a totally different topic I ended up going with the previously mentioned Taurus PT111 Millennium G2. This is a double stack 9mm 12+1 capacity with a 3.2in barrel. Yes smaller barrel less accuracy etc. I know the deal, but I am excited to get it out and shoot it this weekend, and see what I can get out of it.
Bright side of the story is this pistol is more concealable than a full size so it will likely be a starting carry gun for myself if I choose to carry. It also is plenty for a small home/apartment defense pistol. Thanks to those who posted in the other topic, I appreciated the advice, sorry things were not able to work out for me to follow it. I’ll update this topic later with my first impressions of the new pistol after shooting.
