After years of using other brands of rod holders and having cork chipped of my rod handles I switched out to “Folbe Advantaged” rod holders and for the past 6 years I have used 4 “Folbe Advantage” rod holders on my boat.

About a month ago I was introduced to a new model of the Folbe rod holders called the “Advantage Jr’s”, I couldnt wait to try out 1 or 2 on my boat after reading about them, a week ago I was able to come across a pair.

I installed them on my boat was able to thoroughly test them out during our annual week long vacation at Everts Resort last week.

My testing results are… WOW !!!

They were as nice to use as I had hoped they would have been and actually easier for me to use than my original “Folbe Advantage” rod holders, I love the fact when using spinning reel rods to drag jigs with the rod stays put at the right angle(the rod guides point straight back as they should) I was also able to lift the rods out of them with just one hand ! I couldnt believe how easy they would open while lifting the and NEVER on their own while trolling!,I also like the fact the Mounting bases are auto-locking and holds gear securely,no more having to slide the the lock lever over to secure them in the base. tho I have NEVER forgot to lock mine in,But I have heard stories of others you have forgotten to lock them in and lost rod holders and rods while lifting them out.

Another feature I really like is that they a smaller than my old Advantage holders are, more compact.I was so HAPPY with them that quickly decided to find another set,now I have 4 and VERY happy with them.

I would recommend the Advantage Jr’s to anyone who is looking for a SOLID and easy to use rod holder. Some would say they are spendy,,,, but so are those high end Shimano reels we use..

Sorry guy/gals my old “Folbe Advantage” rod holders already belong to some one else !

PS.. Thanks BK for showing me the new “Folbe Advantage Jr” rod holders !

BTW way.. here are pics of the 2 rod holders, you can see the visual difference. Folbe Avantage first and second pic is the Folbe Avantage Jr’s.

I just did a quick search and see that Cabelas and Folbe.com are your best bet, mine come straight from Folbe.com.

Picked up a couple of the Folbe Jr’s and tried them out trolling for the first time yesterday. I’m really impressed and will replace the other rod holders I have with the Folbe’s. They are much easier to get out of the holder when you get a fish on and I think they will cause less wear and tear on the rod handles. Great recommendation!
