Anybody know what Alumacraft puts on the decking screws. I pulled a few panels to make running wires easier. Is this red stuff on the screw just red loctite or some kind of coating to help combat electrolysis?

The screws will be stainless as will be bolts and nuts and washers. The red is probably a compound like lok-tite but not super hard setting.

That’s what I’m thinking as well. I can’t see it doing much to protect against electrolysis. I think I will probably just put panels back down and not worry. I wonder if the red loctight is safe to use with aluminum/stainless combination.

Loctite would be fine to use but I wouldn’t use red, green or blue will work better for this application, I would lean towards green IMO.

It maybe Vibratite VC in either VC3 or VC5. Good for anti vibration.

I too agree with the above.

Or just use nylock nuts and dont worry about the loctite.

    No nuts required.
