Anyone ever store there flip over in the attic of garage? Wondering if how hot it gets up there in the summer will cause any damage. Heating and cooling, will condensation start?

I store a lot of different things in my garage attic. Tires, engines, everything.
In 25+ years I have never seen anything damaged up there. And its fully enclosed with sheetrock. If you are concerned or if its too big to fit through the attic door you could also consider suspending it from the garage ceiling to save space. I have done that a few times over the years including a canoe.

I dont have an insulated garage or sheetrocked ceiling. I have my fish houses in a RACOR lift hanging from the rafters. No issues at all. Somehow the mice didnt even get in there when I had a significant infestation one year.

I bought a lift system off amazon for a jeep hard top, 200lb capacity if I remember right, got a 1/2 sheet of plywood to set the shack on and hoist it even with the ceiling. been working for me for the last 3 years. ( i have 10′ ceiling.)

I wouldn’t be concerned. Like others i store alot of stuff in the attic of the garage. A fish house would be a pain in the butt though. The lifts the other guys mentioned are slick. But if you want it in the attic it’ll be fine.

Yeah for clarification as BC mentioned if you want it in the attic the lifts won’t work they just pull it up close to the ceiling. My neighbor stores his houses up in his attic. He hasn’t been ice fishing in 20 years except when he went to LOW in a resort house.

Probably don’t have to worry about heat, but there have been many posts over the years about mice chewing on shelters stored in garages over summer and that the mice also nest and pee in them.

I keep my flip over out in my shed and put a bunch of dryer sheets in it, it has kept the mice away

I was just going to suggest putting one or two of those cabin fresh packets in the tray to help keep mice at bay. Dryer sheets work well as well.

I have had mixed results with both. I swore by either of them for years, but last year neither worked. I even had hair from my son’s husky under the seat of my bearcat along with dryer sheets and those packets. The mice made a nest from the hair and didnt mind the other stuff one bit. Man was I pi$$ed! The mice were THICK last year IDK about anyone else, but I havent seen them like that before.
