So as I sit here patiently waiting for the ice. I was thinking about doing some modifications to the tent. just looking to see if anyone had any ideas on stuff they wish they did or wish they wouldn’t have.

I don’t own a flip over but I do own a hub style and the mod I’m going to do in a few weeks is add some lighting in the form of waterproof led strips and a rechargeable battery pack with an on/off switch and a USB port. I’m attaching them to the poles on the ceiling. I rarely use a heater and my lantern is just for light so one less thing taking up space in my jet-sled.

I am working on adding waterproof led lights. I put them in front of the tub for my foot area, around the inside of the tub, and on the top bar. I picked up an on, off, on switch and will wire the front lights separate from the top and tub.

Figured that would be the most useful way to wire. I was thinking about putting three different toggle switches, one for each set, but $20 for that panel vs $2 for the switch made up my mind.

How would you go about making a rechargeable battery pack with a USB port? Before a camping trip last summer I tried connect a 12V battery to a USB port but couldnt figure it out for the life of me. Any recommendations?

I should also mention I dont know left from right when it comes this kinda handy man stuff.

For the USB port you need a 12V to 5V DC converter. Any vehicle out there that has a USB port is using this (i.e. cigarette socket ports). I’m sure there are all kinds of products out there if you Googled it.

I’ve added lights, rod storage under the seats, put my 899 on a Genz box, made an attachment to fit the Genz box with 899 on the snowmobile and added a box to the back of the snowmobile this year. It gets boring without ice and I needed to figure out something to do.
