Fleet Ice Flyer Dissapointing

The last few years fleet has put out a nice flyer that has had great deals and coupons in it. Some were two for ones, somewhere percentage off and somewhere just fantastic deals, but this year there’s nothing in it for deals. The prices are average at best and not a single coupon or deal. I guess when everything sells out like it has been the last couple years they decided the discounts weren’t important. With their inventory problems already this year I am very very very thankful that gander came back to town.

I been pretty disappointed with Fleet Farm in general since the new one opened in Delevan WI I did a online order yesterday for their cyber Monday deal. I wanted a couple things one of which was their Vexilar hoodie they had on sale for $20 in their ad. I could not even find it online to order and nowhere to be found in the store. I know we are in the middle of a pandemic which has disrupted the supply chain for a lot of things but even before the pandemic the Delevan store has never been fully stocked with fishing supplies for open or hard water. Was ecstatic when a Fleet Farm near me opened but have been disappointed ever since it’s opened. The Gander near me closed down and now there is no good option near me. Ordering online is about the only option left which is convenient but when it comes to tackle I like to see it in person.

Its really a sign of the times with everything 2020. Supply is extremely hampered and retailers had far less discounts for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Year over year, last year the average discount was something like 40%, this year not even 32%.

i like FF for the simple reason of where its located for me. yea the scamdemic has had an influence on supplies…….but FF started having shortages on the shelves long before this……!!!!!!

i’ve been in the new runnings a few times on the east end of st cloud and thye dont have supply issues…just stinks driving all the way across st cloud to go there.

I cannot get over how you cannot find ammo anywhere. I went to be a box of 3″ steel shot for pheasant hunting and found 1 box of 4 shot at fleet farm. None to be found at Runnings. There were a handful of the non-toxic stuff but at $45 a box I am not buying those. There was not a single box of slugs in fleet farm once the firearms season started. Guess we have to order this stuff online or something. The new Runnings is very nice. Been in there quite a few times and they have a nice selection for most things.

Fleet farm in Rochester has gone down hill big time in the fishing area the last couple years with keeping things in stock. This year I noticed a lot of the stuff on shelves isn’t even priced. A couple items I found on the shelves with no price so I looked them up on there website on my phone and they didn’t even have it on there website.

They have been very good at having things on sale lately but don’t even have the product in stock. Scheels has become my go to for most things now.

I wasn’t intending to do a fleet bashing thread. I know how bad they’ve gone downhill and agree with all of you that it’s not the store it was when the Mills family owned it. But I was particularly disappointed in the new flyer compared to the last couple years it stunk. Just another indication of their demise I guess

The one thing Ive noticed with there flyers, just because it’s in the flyer some things aren’t really a sake price. Yea some stuff may be discounted, but not much. I buy a canned soft fog food from pedigree, the flyer not long ago had the price listed same as any other time you walk in the store.

I thought Fleet Farm was a bit underwhelming, but there were a few deals that stuck out and I know people took advantage of them.

The Striker Bib/Coat for $89.99 was a very good deal for those who got it

The Clam Kenai Pro 1-man shack was the cheapest I’ve ever seen that at

The Eagle Claw rod case for $29.99 was cheap. No it’s not an Otter box, but you could bust about 5 of these and buy new before coming out behind.

I wish shoes would get their website and store prices to match. It ticks me off when you check on an item and the physical store price is higher or lower. Usually I’m on the wrong end of saving if I ordered or bought it. flame

Runnings is way better than Fleet Farm in my opinion. Not even close.

Can’t speak for every Runnings store, but there’s a few that I frequent that are phenomenal. Whether it’s open water fishing, ice fishing, hunting, firearms, I always give them my business first. You can find awesome deals there if you go at the right time that you’ll never get at a Fleet Farm, Cabelas, etc (go to one of those small town stores right after ice season is over).

I can go to my local runnings and get anything from local caught bait, to any kind of auger/electronics/portable shack, etc. There isn’t a brand a lure/spoon that I can’t find there.

Based out in rural Minnesota (Marshall). The people who run it out of the corporate office are great people. They employ a ton of people in smaller towns that are otherwise dying off in terms of businesses. There’s really nothing not to like.

I haven’t paid any attention to price differences vs. a fleet farm, but I’d gladly pay the 1-2% more if that’s the case.

    It’s the real man mall.

Stopped into my local Fleet today. They happened to have some 9mm. It was a little high at 14.99/box but I bought my 2 boxes. My buddy talked with one of the managers who said they sold 500 boxes in 1.5 hours today.

They are storing the 9mm/.40/556/22lr behind the gun counter to better ensure the 2 box limit is complied with. if they put it out on the shelf one neckbeard would buy it all 2 minutes after store open every morning.

Picked up a Kenai Pro Thermal from the FF ad and was able to use the 10% Cyber discount code on top of the sales price before it expired, so I got it for $270. This will be my first ever flip-over shack. Always used a hub in the past.

Will be tough to find a cheaper price on a flip-over. They seem to be going like hot cakes and inventories are limited.

500 boxes you say. So what is the problem that needs solving up there?

    Neckbeard hahahahahahaha.

As others have mentioned, the 10% cyber Monday deal was pretty helpful. I bought two Stealthcam trail cameras that day. I can’t remember the specific model but they were on sale for around $70 (which was $10-$20 off already) then the 10% cyber Monday code dropped them to $63 apiece. Free shipping on orders over $50. So that was a pretty good deal. I’d say there will be one or two here and there that are good, and I echo other’s comments about FF going downhill.

For what it’s worth, 3 or more years ago I bought an Eskimo quick flip 1 just a week or two before Christmas when it went on sale for $199.

Not sure where the OP is located, but I checked out some local twin city fishing shops this weekend and was pretty impressed and surprised(due to high demand) with the sales they had. Thorne Bro’s still has 20% off almost everything ice fishing. Joe’s sporting has 10-20% off ice fishing, and 20% off most other things in store.. if you are on their mailing list the 10% customer appreciation coupon stacks onto all of those sales which is incredible. I think Scheels has 20% off a lot of ice gear right now also?

I guess my point is Fleet Farm might be letting you down but there are other great deals to be found, and opportunity to support local.

The Fleet farm in Winona has a whole rack filled with the very shirt your looking for. I picked one out just due to the price. I’ve noticed the last few weeks no matter what I look for in Winona it always says Not available. Fleet Farm has gone down hill ever since they were bought out.
