Finally – Looks like LOTW will start making good ice this weekend. Temps this morning in Baudette are at 2 degrees light winds.
Should be some good ice reports coming in later today and tomorrow.

Spoke with Morris Point Lodge and the woman I spoke with said there is 6″ of ice right now where they are. They’re targeting bringing their houses out next week, which they typically do when the ice is around 12″. We have a trip planned starting the 27th, so this call with her made my Christmas.
That’s probably a bit optimistic. The temps up there are supposed to be around 30 Tuesday and Wednesday.
High temps are maybe sustained for a few hours this time of year. Lows are sustained for much longer periods. If the lows up there are single digit they will be building ice!
