Just a product recommendation. I have been using Olight flashlights and headlamps this year and they are nothing short of phenomenal. I will admit, they are a little expensive but trust me – they are worth every dollar. If you wait for a holiday or flash sale, you can get some really great deals. I have the warrior mini 2 flashlight that I carry everyday and it’s nothing short of impressive. The array headlamp is equally as impressive. If you compare an Olight flashlight that has 1000 lumen to a 1000 lumen flashlight from a big box store, the difference is astounding. Olight puts their lumens to work. Most of their products are rechargeable. Also, most flashlights have a magnetic tail cap.

Like I said, just a product recommendation. I have really enjoyed everything I have purchased from them. They are durable and Olight has great customer service. The only downside is it a Chinese company…

I have a surefire that I’ve owned for over 20 years now. That thing has taken a beating and still works great. There was a time when they were all the buzz. To be honest I don’t hear much about them these days. They were one of the first to get into the small high lumen flashlights. They had large contracts with both the military and law enforcement at one time. Like most things over time a lot of other players got into the game. The Olight seems to be priced around the same.

I have a fenix that I really like. It does have the top strap, but you dont have to put it on. Its rechargeable and has lots of different settings. The battery is in the head unit not on the back like some models which I prefer it in the front.

Surefire is a great brand too! I haven’t personally used them but have heard good things about them.

I like fenix. I haven’t used any of their stuff but it looks like they make good products. I want to get the Olight array 2s because you can change the modes and brightness by waving your hand in front of the light, which would be nice when wearing heavy gloves

I picked-up an Olight Perun mini headlamp. My first Olight, but the versatility of this small 90 degree flashlight/headlamp sold me. I’m having a loop patch sewn on my ice fishing beanie, magnet tail cap for use in the shack, and pocket clip to wear on my bibs.

Surefire got passed up a long time ago in the lighting arena.

Olight and Fenix are great products. I really like Fenix’s headlamps also. I have 3 of the exact same one, keep one by the front door, one in my car, and one in the gunsafe.

I’ve used 1 Fenix flashlight for over a decade on MIL/LE type stuff and it’s been phenomenal, original battery also.

Fenix also doesn’t have parasitic drain like Streamlight used to.

Fenix also 1/2 off thru various MIL/LE websites.

Fenix, with 18650 battery. Rechargeable. Lithium. Use it for everything, including ice fishing. Bought it originally for hunting. It has durability, necessary brightness and longevity. My entire family owns them now, as do most of my friends. It’s one of the handiest and important pieces of equipment I’ve ever owned. Twice.. I have had it on all night tracking and carrying out elk. Absolutely love it inside my Otter, day or night. It really helps for extra brightness for knot tying. Use it almost daily for some task in the house or garage or boat.
I have owned some other popular brands. You It may seem expensive…worth it. Some will say it’s too heavy. I never notice the weight. All lighter models I’ve owned were less trustworthy. A new model sports 21700 battery…which lasts even longer/brighter/etc.
Just don’t use it when you are cleaning the house….everything shows up.
