I can’t believe you haven’t heard about the new latest and greatest trend. Buying the most expensive flashlight to show how cool and important you are to a forum group.

Has nothing to do with it, not sure why you would make assumptions, tough times?

I view this as a tool. I want something that works when I need it and am tired of grabbing flashlights from drawers and glove boxes to find out the batteries are dead or the operations of the light have stopped working. I am asking for peoples experiences to make an informed purchase. Many great options have been shared and also tings I didn’t originally consider. I appreciate that from the posters and this forum, and try to reciprocate.

Jesus Christ, get your panties out of a bunch. It was a joke. I don’t give 1 F what you spend your money on. Why would you make assumptions I was serious?

Man some of you either get great Christmas gifts or are flashlight aficionados. Can’t imagine dropping a bone on a flashlight when my phone works 90 percent of the time.
The one posted on Amazon seems like a 20$ gamble I would take.

No chance the good people of IDO will let OP buy an underpowered personal lighting device. Max it out or you’ll take a big hit in resale value. Plus I’ve never heard someone wish they had less lumens

That 99000 lumen model still available?? whistling

Got it, TillrLife. Since you spent the time and effort to respond I thought it was a serious response. I’ll assume you aren’t serious moving forward. Appreciate your input

Olight has the Warrior Mini 2 Compact EDC Tactical Flashlight with the i3T 2 EOS on sale for $55. I think I’ll get a couple of those sets and give them a try.

Read through the whole thread… guess I am old school. I still run the MagLites from over 20 years ago… small, Medium and Large.. all still work. (aircraft aluminum you know)

I have a Kodiak (5k I think) that I got for a gift and surprisingly works well. I’ve never liked rechargeable lights because I always forget to charge them but I’ve been impressed with this one so far.

Big thumbs up on Felix brand. I have too many headlamps, but my genie is my favorite. Spendy but worth it. I’m sure they make a great flashlight too.

And ripjiggin- the way you feel about expensive lights is probably similar to how I feel about $350-700 fishing rods; you think what you already have(cheaper-moderately priced) is great and plenty, UNTIL you try out/hold an ultra-high end one! jester

I know there are exceptions tho

Nothing wrong with the ole MagLites especially if you replace the bulbs with LED.

I love the maglights that take 2 double A batteries I have one in every vehicle.

Also run a Fenix, forget which model. It’s my spotlight in the boat, I can see upriver pretty G damn far when I have it set to maximum.

We should get into a thread on weapon lights lol that’s where the real flashlight budget gets blown up!

I work at a well-known big box hardware store. When I wanted to buy new flashlights for my wife, daughter, and myself I would watch the closeout section of my store. The longer the discontinued flashlight sists in that section, the lower the selling price becomes.
I purchased what I feel are adequate flashlights in terms of brightness and size. Made sure these flashlights are rechargeable as well. All the Maglight Flashlights I owned eventually had to be replaced when the batteries swelled when they died.
Watch for Black Friday sales and even better prices after the holidays are over.
    Just my 2 cents.

I bet all of the ones that had the batteries go bad were Duracell or just cheap batteries. I never use anything but Eveready batteries or rechargeable. I have had way to many Duracell open up and corrode the contacts and end up wrecking what ever they are in.
