Hi all, just wondered if anyone has had any success running a flasher fly on leadcore and snap weight setup behind a planer board or if it’s too much for the board to handle. Thanks much!!

I tested a mag dipsey behind a offshore sst pro mag board and it worked just fine. My normal salmon program is 300 feet of copper wire on that board and it handles it without issues. Your setup should work as long as you have large boards.

I use keel weights a lot to get the extra depth. Works great . I figure 15 feet for a 4 oz keel (approx)

Haven’t done leadcore plus keel weights behind boards, but we pull flasher flies on 10 leadcore setups behind Church boards with no issues. The Church boards have a adjustable lead weight on the bottom of them that you slide forward or back, depending on line and lure weight. Makes the boards nose up or down to track better in the water.
