7 to 12 amh on a flasher battery and 125 and up on a car/truck battery. Little low on cranking amps

I would think the same except for how well those jump packs / power centers work. Someday I will dissect an old one to see exactly what’s in there.

It wouldn’t work with a dead battery or on its own, but in an emergency it would be worth trying as when jump starting, every amp counts. It might just be enough to push a flat battery over the edge to get that that few extra cranks to get it running.

Listed below are the battery specs for two typical jump start power packs.

    600 PEAK Amp Jump-Starter
    1. Built-in Battery: 12-Volt DC, 8Ah, Rechargeable, Sealed, Lead-Acid AGM (Absorbed
    Glass Mat) Battery

    900 PEAK Amp Jump-Starter
    1. Built-in battery 12-volt DC, 18 Ah, rechargeable, sealed, lead-acid AGM (Absorbed
    Glass Mat) battery

Yes the 600 peak amp power pack uses an 8Ah battery. Yes your flasher also uses an 8Ah battery, however, I’m not sure the batteries are constructed the same internally.

The power pack battery is designed for “short term/high amp draw” much like the starter battery in your car. I would suspect the flasher battery is more like a deep cycle battery designed for “long term/low amp draw”. So even tho both batteries may have a 8Ah rating, it may not be apples to apples.

I jump started a Honda del sol of my buddys with a 18 vlt lithium ion drill battery and 2 1ft pieces of copper wire from a job site. car had 296k and the lights were left on. The 18 vt had 3/4 battery life according to the lights that light up on the battery went dead instantly but started that car. This was in the early fall time of the yr. I couldn’t believe it.

Just a thought. was out on red last year when our car battery didn’t want to start due to the severe coldness and had to ask around for a jumper.

One issue would be terminal and wire sizes. A starter battery has large terminals and uses large wires. A flasher battery has small terminals and even with jumper cables the flow of electricity would be limited by the small connectors on the battery. Ever seen Jumper cables built with a mini alligator clip. No, that’s because they won’t carry enough current.

I’ve had a Peak 450 plus for a few years now and love it. While not having to use it on a really dead car battery, I have used it as auxiliary power for flashers, power port for recharging cell phones, engaging the inverter to power a small radio, used the led work light to see what I’m doing in the dark, and using the air pump on some bicycle tires. While their main purpose is to give a jump, they are also a great 12 volt power center.
