I’ve been fishing this river for a long time. My favorite small river in WI. I usually do well on tubes and senkos for smallies and bucktails for the ‘skies. I’m looking at the new X-Raps and DT4’s by Rapala. These look great for the Flambeau. What do you use to catch fish on this Northern river?
anything gold color works great. i had a rattling shad rap from the menards mug special that worked so great i went out and bought some more. any gaudy spinner baits with a gold blade of somesort. daredevils in small backwaters worked for my buddy’s kid. caught his first muskie at ten. it was a lure and fresh line i gave him that morning and all i caught was some stinking bass. that was below the rapids and above the dam.
you talkng about the dam up by the Flowage? That’s great muskie/smallie water for sure.
