Anyone been there? It’s in the NW angle. Their website site doesn’t give alot of information.

Ice fishing. Did call found out that with Indians netting the lake the crappies are alot harder to find. Prices seem reasonable but the drive is loooong

Was there 2 weeks ago. Great place with great service. Long drive so a lot of people take sleds from the south side versus driving through Canada. We drove.

We can confirm the crappie bite has not been there this winter. We didn’t go and give it a try as they recommended not to.

Fishing was good for us….about 40 walleye and saugers each day. Quite a few keepers with 26” as our biggest. This is for 2 guys.

Some other groups struggled but I’d seemed like they weren’t super experienced. Will definitely go back.

Our group of 6 was up in the NW Angle last week. We fished out of Sunset Lodge on Oak Island. We planned on a day of crappie fishing on the Canada side and a day for walleye on US side.
We fished a similar 2 days last year…1 for crappie and 1 for walleye. We caught a good number of LARGE (13″-14+”) crappie last year and were excited to do the same this year.
When we arrived we were advised the crappie fishing had been tough all year. The guides we spoke with in the fish cleaning house weren’t optimistic. We were stubborn still went out for crappie on day 1.
We fished the entire morning and our group of 6 caught only 4 crappies. Fortunately we were able to move to another location/hard house that afternoon and did pretty well on walleye. Several in the 16″-20″ range salvaged the day. Our 2nd day on the US side for walleye and sauger was OK…nothing special.
Whatever the reason the crappie bite in the Canada waters near the NW Angle is poor this year especially compared to what we experienced just a year ago.

Where did the bite go? The bite went home in buckets. A 14” Canadian crappie is an old fish-you have a guide on the spot, he guides others too. Nice that you are telling others though.Glad you got some good walters.
