Fixing Hummingbird ICE 35/45/55

I have a two plus year old hummingbird ice 35. It is barely used. Recently it wouldn’t pick up a jig but it would pick up the bottom. I have swapped out several transducers since that is what appeared to be the problem. It did not fix it. I have read several people having this problem. I called Customer Service that said send it in and pay 139.95 plus tax to fix it. I paid 250 for it. Why would I pay over half to have it fixed when I could spend the money on something more durable. I am asking to see if anyone knows the part that would need to be replaced in a Hummingbird ICE 35/45/55 to resolve this problem. I have a friend that said he would replace any parts for me (he’s a circuit board technician). If I can order the part and put it in ourselves its worth doing. However, for 150 I would rather use as a boat anchor. Thanks for the help.
