Food Channel “Octopus”

    saw it on food channel last night.

    want to grill some octopus on my grill this spring.

    Where in southern WI can I buy some?

    Have you checked out Valleye Fish & Cheese in Prairie du Chien. Anyone that goes through this area needs to stop and check out this specialty shop. This place rocks, the wife and I will not go through town without making a visit when they are open.
    If they do not have octopus it would not hurt to ask. They are very accommodating people. Gotta love river rats

    Also is that bacon wrapped aspargus? Now that looks tasty. As far as octopus goes I have found it rather chewy and tough to eat. Maybe there are better “cuts” than I have had.

    have some…

    need to soak overnight in milk or pineapple juice to keep them from being like rubber.

    Then going to marinade them.

    Any suggestions on ingredients in marinade?

    olive oil
    minced garlic
    minced stewed red peppers
    minced onions
    fresh basil is what i have decided to put as marinade.

    it required 8 tries to get my wife to smile

    instead of grimace or look scared.

    These 2 are cleaning and quarter. Then I tenderized them and they are soaking in marinade for a couple hours

    and I will pop them on the grill about supper time with some grill zucchini as a side.
