You guys been seeing any deals on good seafood? Lobster, crab legs or shrimp? Maybe even some raw oysters? Wish I could just fly to the coast somewhere and get my fix. Looks like trying to find it locally is this years option.

Sam’s Club has all the above for decent prices. I won’t claim that is what you consider ‘Good’ seafood though. We buy quite a bit of other meat from Sams and don’t have any complaints.

We spent last NYE in Key Largo Florida. Outstanding seafood obviously at every restaurant we went to that week. The NYE seafood dinner specials were pert’neer obscene. I am a bigger guy and can put away plenty of groceries. But for $50 per person I actually for the first time in my life ate all the seafood I could eat.

If you go, there is a place called the Fish House or something like that which is rated very highly by all the critics. It IS very good, but our favotite seafood came from the #4 rated restaurant called Calypso. Decent prices and Ultra Fresh catches. The owners called it “Gourmet Food on Paper Plates” – a perfect description.

If however you are stuck in the snow for NYE, think warm thoughts and try a shrimp or crab boil with friends instead.
Very easy to do and not too expensive. The whole process takes less than 1 hour and is a great community activity.

Reserve a few live lobsters for the evening…. can’t get much fresher than that
